Shamanic Frame Drumsstudents_drum_beach.jpg (71199 bytes)
I like these drums for shamanic circles, ceremonies, and personal use because they are light, easy to hold, well-made and more resonant (big tone) than any drums I’ve seen for their size and price. You can play them with the beater or with your hand for a lot of sound variety.

Price does not includes shipping. Shipping can be from about $8 to $25 per drum depending on size, where the drums will be shipped, and how many you order at once. Shipping is only to United States addresses.

Drum Care

Your frame drum is made in Pakistan of goat skin and rosewood. These drums are light, easy to handle, and beautifully resonant. Treat your drum with care as you would an animal and plant companion. For the fullest sound, beat the drum in points around rather than exactly on the exact center.

Under excessive heat or dry conditions, the drum head or skin may shrink, tighten, crack, and even break the wood frame. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DRUM IN A CAR, where heat from the sun can be intense. Keep your drum away from long exposure to both extreme heat and very cold or freezing temperatures. High humidity can be absorbed by the drum head so that the sound changes from “boom” to “thwuck.” Heating the drum head carefully for awhile in the sun, with a hair dryer, or other gentle heat source will dry it out sufficiently to restore a good sound. Take care. Overdoing the heating can damage the drum.

Enjoy your drumming with the heartbeat of all life on Earth.

Fiberskyn head drums by Remo (made in U.S.A.) are sturdier and more adaptable to weather conditions than the natural skin head drums above. In dry climates, natural skin drums can shrink and crack; in humid conditions, natural skin drums can become dull. You might consider having a Fiberskyn drum if you travel with your drum to various climates or live in extreme dry or moist conditions. I am amazed at the beautiful quality of tone of these Fiberskyn drums and how natural they look. Since I moved to Arizona, they are my drums of choice.

14"
$85     16" $97     22" $125 (16" and 22" Buffalo Design only)

A beautifully designed drum with great tone and fun to play.  I find the 14" drum just right for holding in shamanic drumming circles. It has a rich, booming tone.

The mystical coyote on this Buffalo Drum is the art work of Adam Geyette. You can almost hear him calling in the night. Add your rhythms to this coyote’s call. The illustration is printed into the Fiberskyn head to last. Braided cords are used for cross bracing to add to the look and feel of the Buffalo Drum. The center of the cording is comfort-coated for hours of enjoyable play. Beat near the center of the drum for deep pitches and accent them with higher pitch rhythms from the edge of the drum. Includes soft tipped mallet.

A buffalo illustration is framed by a divided circle, reflecting the four cardinal directions. According to Native American belief, the four directions must be in balance for all to be well with the world. The illustration is printed into the Fiberskyn head to last. This elegantly simple design will inspire you to beat out captivating rhythms. The Fiberskyn head is pulled over a 3.5 inch deep frame providing excellent resonance. Braided cords are used for cross bracing to add to the look and feel of the Buffalo Drum. The center of the cording is comfort-coated for hours of enjoyable play. Beat near the center of the drum for deep pitches and accent them with higher pitch rhythms from the edge of the drum.
